It has been a while since I made an entry so much so that Raina commented on it last night when we were waiting for Kingdom of heaven to begin.
After that movie we spent some time talking about It, the TV movie/mini series ‘Revalations’ and how many of the movies that relate in any way to religion that come from hollywood are catholic.
I personally consider catholicism to be a plague or a disease but I feel that way about all organised religion. The things that people have attempted to justify as doing “god”’s work are just insane it is for this reason I have no faith in any form of organised religion.
Before I go on let me give you some back ground. I was at a young age (8 or 9) christened under Church of England.. It was my choice however at the time I didn’t have all the information I mainly made the choice to take my step fathers name and leave the name of my biological father (insert about 55 derogative words here). Once we moved back to NSW and I started school I took home a form about scripture classes and mum filled it in little did I know this would mean a few hours on wednesday each school week of listening to old ladies tell me about god for 3 years. This is the extent of my religious studies and It shant go further than that.
Ok now that that is out of the way…
My Beliefs.
In my opinion people are entitled to believe in what ever they need to in order to get themselves through life. I do not belive that organised religion is a good thing in any way shape or form but as anyone with a clue knows disapproving organised religion is not disapproving of people having beliefs. I personally do not believe in any diety of any form and consider the bible (a book I will never read) to be a popular work of fiction much like Harry Potter or Lord of the rings.
These are my beliefs and I am entitled to them I will not force them upon anyone nor will I debate anothers beliefs unless they attempt to force theirs upon me. I wont argue the contents of the bible with anyone for the simple reason I do not care to know enough about it to present a decent argument.
