So i have been playing much spore, several 2:30am bed times due to the game. I have in the past few days started playing The Witcher as well its an interesting RPG that uses the NWN2 engine and so far has been fun.

I finished watching S4 of b5 with Raina on monday that was good now we have S5 to watch (erk) and then I have to find something else.

I saw Wall-E on sunday it was amusing I would give it 3/5 thumbs up.

So I killed my previous PC and ordered a new one, after it frustratingly got sent to melbourne first it finally made it to me and I have put 64bit Vista on it. The Machine specs be Q9400 @ 2.66ghz, 4GB 1066mhz DDR3, Nvidia GTX260 896MB, Nice Case and 850watt power supply.

I been playing some spore on it as well as moving data around since it got here on monday. its so nice and fast. Below be my creatures.

In other me related news I have been watching b5 and playing around with linux more of late as well as watching muchos other TV especially wth new seasons starting up recently

So Karl what have you been up to?

I’ve seen a bunch of movies and watched a bunch of tv shows and spent time with friends. Of the movies I have seen Batman The Dark Knight stood out as the best one this year..what an excellent movie. Others worthy of mention mostly because I enjoyed them Hancock, Indiana Jones 4, Ironman, The Incredible Hulk. Movies that get a mention because you should avoid them Wanted, Love Guru.

On the TV front I have spread the word of dexter and got a few of my workmates and friends watching it, I have watched many a series and am currently watching the weekly episodes of burn notice, eureka, stargate atlantis, the middleman and weeds. I have also been rewatching babylon 5 and for the first time a show called John Doe.

Work has changed a little I am no long doing Level 1 support and my stuff has moved I’m now in the poorly named hosting unit and my duties are primarily System Admin stuff and some higher level support. I have to say the change has been good and bad..there are many things in use that I am now expected to manage that I know jack all about but fake it anyway, but the best part is not being on the phones even if I do have a manger I have to train.

So I have seen a few movies since my last post which was last month…

There will be blood - A movie set before the turn of the 20th century that chronicles the life of a silver miner who turns himself into an oil tycoon. I really enjoyed this movie although I hadn’t read the description before I saw it and I thought with that title there would be lots of blood and there wasn’t it was still an enjoyable flick I give it 4 out of 5 thumbs up.

Drillbit Taylor - A couple of kids who are being beat up at school decide to hire a body guard to protect them, after interviewing a number of candidates (including one played by Adam Baldwin) the kids begin to realise that no body guard will work for $100 a week, until Drillbit Taylora bum who passes himself off as a Green Berat shows up and accepts. I laughed more than a couple of times at this movie it was enjoyable but I would wait for it on dvd 2.5/5 thumbs up

Hitman - A movie adapation of a sucessful game about a hitman. Timothy Olyphant (Deadwood, Die Hard 4) plays Agent 47 the hitman..he did an ok job The action in this movie was well paced and enertaining to watch although the makers used some scenes from Dark Angel in the intro and the position of the Dark Angel kids barcodes was on their neck as opposed to the hitman barcodes on their head..it was dumb to do it so they loose points 1/5 thumbs up

Superhero Movie - This movie is made by one of the guys who worked on the original scary movie and its funnier than some of the other movies that have come from the group. Its a movie about a Superhero named Dragonfly who seems to have a life comprised of elements of Spiderman, Batman, Superman and an encouter with X-menish elements. I found it very amusing in parts and Raina describd it as School boy humour which it was. Still more entertaining than drill bit so 3/5 thumbs up.

I went shopping…and have cooked 3 times since weird.

Yesterday was the Inaugural Cake Day..that is from last week it was decided to have one cake day a month for each persons bday instead of a cake (or two) for each bday in a month, some months like May have 5 bdays in them..may is a popular month for bdays.

Additionally we were informed that one of the companies considering using the product the company I work for (notice I didn’t use our)  develop is going to see two customers of ours and discuss their experience with us..I let out a loud laugh which probably was unwise. One of the customers is unhappy with us because something they heavily rely on always breaks the other was promised something at least a year ago and its still in development because resources kept getting reassigned from it.

Over the weekend I watched much arrested development its funny…in fact I watched all of arrested development, some dr who and I saw the latest Rambo movie.

Rambo was a very rambo movie, shooting, blood, explosions. Despite the fact Stalone is 62ish now he still did pretty well in this movie it was a good action flick i give it 3 thumbs up.

Also during my lunch break I picked up 2 8gb usb keys from WoW and a kebab mmm tasty.

I hate mondays and I miss the weekend.

I watched a bit of classic dr who this weekend, some sg-1 and shoot em up again it was pretty good..also played some hellgate london which is fun but shits me at times when it crashes in the middle of kicking some arse and i have to play through the same levels over and over again.

Firstly.. new blog software used to be MT now WP, congrats to the WP guys for making the import so easy.

Last night I went and saw Juno, Its a comedy about a teenage pregnancy it has good acting and great comic delivery and I really enjoyed it I give it a 4.2/5 thumbs up

I recently reinstalled my machine which allowed me to once more play games I have been playing BioShock and Hellgate London, the latter is made by the same people that made Diablo II and it is a similar kind of game with some similar things, skill tree’s normal, enhanced, rare, legendary and unique items, personal relocation devices (town portaly) the combat is more interactive and you have a few options with how to play the character there are also 6 classes. Bioshock is fun as well..

The weekend is gone.. it was entertaining.

Friday I left work early using flexitime which was good, went to Raina’s on friday for dinner and watched superman returns which was also good.

I spent a bit of time watching the 4400 season 1 and up to episode 10 of season2..When it first aired here I didn’t watch it but I am actually enjoying it. I also bought ghost rider, hot fuzz, scarface and transformers the game. I watched ghost rider it was ok and hot fuzz cracked me up. I couldn’t install transformers it seems to require XP ..yet another game my machine meets the reqs for and I can’t play this is really annoying me. I might have to get XP soon

I did some other stuff as well helped Raina a little with some of her stuff, played pool last night at the coffs as well as some pokies at the RSL.

Umm yeah I’ll leave it at that.
