I had a half day at work today because I went to the cardiologist after getting a referral from the Doctor (not the timelord) last week. Went there did their little cardio stress (generous) test doctor looked at the results and said “these results look good I don’t think it’s your heart I think it’s muscular, its good that at 28 you can make it the full 12 mins” (or something like that) I said “I was 99.9% sure it wasn’t my heart when this all started” and he said “well I can’t say i’m 100% certain but probably 99.95% sure”
For those that haven’t done one (I hadn’t) A cardio stress test consists of going into a room with a treadmill and a tech (who is probably a nurse) take off your shirt and have an ECG (electrody goodness) hooked up to you to get a base reading, they also take your blood pressure. After the tech asks questions to establish history, then the doctor comes in and asks the same questions. Then they put you on the tread mill and start at 2km/h (SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW) and every 3mins they increment the speed and incline and stop at 12mins.
Fun times. I love spending 170 to be told its not my heart which I knew before I went to the doctor the first time!
In other news… stuff happens.
I returned to the doctor yesterday and he checked the results of my last lot of tests yay no hepatitis or HIV and its not lupis. The doc gave me a referral to a Cardiologist and a haemotologist for stuff but the referral required him to print a page with referral info plus 13 page (single sided) patient history for each one, he signed the last page then gave it to someone else to fax all 14 pages. To me this seems like a waste of time and paper, why not send the history and referral electronically and fax a cover page with a signature if required, it would be faster, more efficient and less wasteful. Seems dumb the way it is. Amongst other things the doctor was unhappy with my blood pressure but happy I had lost 4kg in 4 weeks.
Last weekend I went to brisbane for soundwave (music festival) it was my first festival and it was a great deal of fun. In the future if attending festivals I will make sure to not loose my friends because finding them is difficult and its better to rock out with company. On the sunday we walked around Brissy a lot and it was highly enjoyable I also went for my first swim in 2years or so, before heading back to coffs at 7 or 8pm damn I was tired when I got home.
Month of no drinking is over time to get on it!
Last week on wednesday night I went with Raina to see Transformers 2, it was ok. Longer than the first and more explosions than you can poke a stick at and more stupid slomo michael fucking bay shit than should ever be in a movie. The plot was kinda lame and it wasn’t nearly as good as the first one.. although Megan Fox was not bad too look at.
Why oh Why did someone during the making of this film not stop and say “We are depicting infantary fighting giant fucking robots…this is stupid even if they are special forces” Oh and a huge amount of product placement in this one even more than the last I think.
Altogether I give it a 2 thumbs up.
I am sick to death of going to pubs in Coffs and having to listen to shitty top 40 pop crap music, or really bad songs from the past 5 years that seem to keep getting played over and over again.
On tuesday while at the greenhouse tavern in the sports bar near the pool tables all night long there was shit music, the random selection on the “jukebox” device seemed incapable of selecting any good (i suspect by design) the only way to get some rock or something decent was to pay to select a song..oh and seem you have pay more to make it jump a queue or it wont play at all from previous experience.
I think to be called a pub they should have to have rock music 75% of the time otherwisse its some trendy wine bar or crap club (unless its a metal club..which can be exempt). I am tired of going into aussie pubs and not having my damn rock music.

Yesterday was the Inaugural Cake Day..that is from last week it was decided to have one cake day a month for each persons bday instead of a cake (or two) for each bday in a month, some months like May have 5 bdays in them..may is a popular month for bdays.
Additionally we were informed that one of the companies considering using the product the company I work for (notice I didn’t use our) develop is going to see two customers of ours and discuss their experience with us..I let out a loud laugh which probably was unwise. One of the customers is unhappy with us because something they heavily rely on always breaks the other was promised something at least a year ago and its still in development because resources kept getting reassigned from it.
Over the weekend I watched much arrested development its funny…in fact I watched all of arrested development, some dr who and I saw the latest Rambo movie.
Rambo was a very rambo movie, shooting, blood, explosions. Despite the fact Stalone is 62ish now he still did pretty well in this movie it was a good action flick i give it 3 thumbs up.

I think the size 12 model looks great, she looks like a woman should, she has curves and a smile which everyone is entitled to, while I personally prefer a brunettes she is attractive yet the judges told her she was too fat..WTF!, the other girl depicted looks awful, she looks androgynous sickly her bones are visible her stick limbs are unattractive, yet this girl was told she was perfect.
FUCK YOU FASHION INDUSTRY, you bastards are a huge part of the reason women have so many problems with their image you constantly bombard them with these androgynous stick insect UGLY AS HELL women and tell them that men want this. NEWS FLASH ARSEHOLES men don’t. If a man is out on the street and he is checking out a woman chances are he will be looking at
a) her arse..and it wont be flat and non existant
b) her chest and it wont be flat and non existant
c) her legs and they won’t be sticks that extend from her flat arse
d) Some other feature that is womanly.
The editors, photographers, graphic artists, model head hunters, reporters for all the womens magazines that throw these ugly stick insect creatures at people all the time should have their skin peeled off, be rolled in salt, lashed, drawn and quartered then really really hurt. They are doing all women a disservice by telling them they need to look like this “models”
I would rather see a real woman on the cat walk than a stick figure were I to ever look at a cat walk..I can’t speak for everyone but I’m pretty sure the same can be said for many people.
Well the past two weekends haven’t been super busy. I saw superman returns again and the second time I enjoyed it more I was too harsh last time on it. I screwed up my computer and was forced to reinstall the OS and my second drive is fucking up now so when the current download is finished I will have to format it and then run some checks and make sure its all happy. On the upside when reinstalling my OS and trying to find correct MB model I discovered I had 2 SATA plugs on my motherboard..score I can install sata drives. I also bought myself a Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 4 which is a vast improvement over on board sound.
This weekend I went to dinner with a friend and tried Venison, it was tasty except I spent the rest of the night picking bambi out of my teeth..not fun. I also hired some dvd’s reviews below.
Slither – This movie didn’t play here in coffs so I hired it when i realised it was out on dvd. Its a horror flick the story is a creature from space has landed and is possing people and consuming lots of MEAT! I found it really amusing because of the dialogue and the prostects were cool. Anyone who is a fan of 80’s style horror flicks should rent and watch this 4/5 thumbs up.
Tamara – I saw this and noticed it was by some of the same guys as Final Destination. The story on this one is a girl who is having a hard time at school and has an interest in witch craft casts a spell to try and make her life better the spell requires her blood to be spilt to take effect and she doesn’t spill it..her schoolmate pray a prank on her that results in her dying and her blood being spilt then she takes revenge on them for killing her. all in all it wasn’t very good 1/4 thumbs up
Night watch – I should watch it again and see if it makes more sense next time through but as it was It was a little confusing even for me. I wont rate it.
Blood rayne – I downloaded this rather than hire it, its Uwe Boll movie based on a game (big surprise) I expected it to suck badly and was glad it didn’t let me down. damn did it suck. but there was some nice gore and stuff so i’ll rate it above Tamara with a 1.2/5 thumbs up.
I saw superman returns on the weekend, it was pretty good better than the piece of crap superman III i watched on TV a few weeks ago. Some cool special effects and the new actor playing superman did a good job. I’ll give it 3 thumbs up.
In other news the RTA in Coffs Harbour sucks..I have a car now and I can drive but because the rta sucks I have to wait until the 27th before I can do my test again, damn they suck.
I have been watching Andromeda lately its a sci-fi series that was inspired by an idea by Gene Roddenberry. The premise of the show is a man removed from time by being stuck in the event horizon of a black hole for 300 years who when he is finally freed finds out everything he knew is dead. The government at the time that he was frozen (the Systems commonwealth) is gone and the universe has sunk into a dark ages of sorts. He sets about restoring the systems commonwealth with the assistance of some friends he makes along the way. The show started out good and was fun, new and interesting but it lost its way after the end of season 2. Season 3 and 4 while being watchable where not as good as the first 2 seasons and season 5 is almost like a different show. I would recommend watching at least the first 2 seasons and 3 and 4 if you enjoy that.

I really hate the smell of cigarette smoke and the way it gets in eerything I took some time of work and during that time i spent a week with family, the time i spent with my brother was smelly and yuck because he is a smelly chain smoker the week at my parents place more smoking inside again and ick thanks mum!
I was watching a docco tonight on SBS about the tobbacco industry “CUTTING EDGE: THE TOBACCO CONSPIRACY” those guys are real bastards, the knew about the health risks for decades and lied to the public bribed researchers and spread misinformation to get more people hookedjust for $$$. Every goernment in the world should outlaw the growing of tobbaco and the production of cigarettes as well as making the damn things illegal..but they wont and you know why? because the governments make shitloads of money from taxes on tobbaco products so much so that the tobacco companies even use this fact to establish themselves in some countries where they do not presently exist. They pay people to smuggle cigarrettes in on the sly of course then once there is an abundance of cigarettes in the country the companies approach the governments and point out the revenue they are missing out on and ask for help establishing a presence in that country so the country can profit from slowly killing people.
The companies have had people researching was of delivering nicotine that are less harmful yet they dont use the research the sit on it or they produce products that could very well deliver peoples nicotine hits without the addtional dangerous chemicals found in cigarettes, hell the bastards even denied nicotine is addictive and tried to blame other things for the diseases smokers and unfortunate victims of smokers the passive smokers. The damn bastards know they are selling death in a stick, the goernments in countries know they sell death in a stick yet they are allowed to operate nearly unabated
You know what else shits me, I think I have written about it before is the fact that despite we in Australia have laws prohibiting advertising of smoking any time you flick on the tv you can see a tv show or a movie with someone smoking, you goto the movies and see people smoking. Hollywood (the collective) is paid to advertise cigarettes and they do so willingly despite the fact its common knowledge the fucking things kill more people each year than murder, natural disaster, alcohol, aids, cancer, car accidents and drug over doses combined.. this shit needs to stop.
In NSW we dont get cigarette ads, we have no smoking in public or enclosed places enforced by law and as of last july designated smoking areas inside pubs and clubs all of which are great things with one minor exception, the designated smoking areas are almost always where the pokies are as a result anyone who wants to play the pokies (or has to service those playing the pokies) is subjected to passive smoking in large quantities because the smokers are all around the pokie machines as well its most unplesant.
fucking tobbaco companies, fucking smokers I would say burn the lot of them but that would just mean more air bourne death for the sane people.So instead the product should be made illegal and the companies dissolved with their current net worth sunk into cancer research.
Firday night was spent watching tv shows I had downloaded, downloading more TV shows and watching DVD’s it was entertaining. Saturday I played games, watched tv shows until midday when I went to lunch with Raina, Went to Mangrove Jacks and had a nice schnapper thinger. After lunch we went and watched Xmen 2 at my place and then went and got some noodles and some more DVD’s. The rest of the night was spent watching DVD’s We watched Charlie and the Chocolate factory (good), Red Eye (Ok) and Hostage (Ok). After that I went home.
Sunday I played games watched some downloaded SG-1 and had a driving lesson, the first time I had driven in 2 years or so. Raina’s car is nice to drive. After that I went home and watched more SG-1 until Jason came over and picked me up and we went to the hole known as Grafton. Went over to Josh’s got some KFC, played about 6 games of pool played a few hours of play station and headed back to Coffs.
Got back to Coffs at 9:10 went to see Underworld: Evolution at 9:15. I enjoyed this movie it was a nice action flick. If you are looking for something that is challenging or an insight into the human condition skip this. This movie is an action flick with vampires. The movie would have been better without the sex scene (Kate in latex is enough she doesn’t need to get nekkid as well) and less blind shooting. Seline (Kate) has been arround for 600 years you would think she would realise after having shoot a hybrid 2 dozen times and it doesn’t have a scratch she should try something else..but no she keeps trying to shoot!. 3/5 thumbs up for underworld.
A pretty good weekend all in all.
